Being single is tough. Skout can make it a little easier.

You can flirt, chat, maybe even find a date through Skout. You and other Skouters belong to a community of singles who are ready to chat online, then meet in the real world. Skout is the first-ever Social Dating Application!

With Skout, you can find interesting singles close-by, strike up a conversation, maybe grab a drink or share a cup of coffee with one of them and make a new friend. You can tell potential love interests what you're all about by posting mobile pictures or notes. And it's 100% up to you if you want to make contact with someone -- or if you want to respond to someone who is trying to make contact with you. (You can even set your profile to "Private" if you want to see if there's someone attractive nearby without letting anyone know you're around. It's all up to you!)

How Skout started

Skout Inc. was founded in 2007 to develop software products that take online social interaction farther than anyone had thought possible in the past. We wanted to create a community that would help mobile device users communicate better with friends, with business contacts -- and even with strangers who might become friends if you only had a chance to meet them. And, surprise! When we set up our beta version, in 2008, we soon found out that 83% of our members were using Skout for dating and flirting, not to keep up with friends or business contacts. We seem to have come up with the hottest, newest, and most fun way ever to meet other singles through your iPhone or other mobile devices (or even through your computer), especially if you want to meet people across the room or a few blocks away, not halfway around the world.

Is Skout going to save the planet?

Probably not. We just want to make it easier for intelligent singles to find each other, have fun, flirt and get to know someone better before meeting them f2f. Ideally, the idea of meeting someone nearby as opposed to far away might save you considerable travel time, which in turn is good for the environment, right? So maybe... just maybe... besides from meeting interesting people and spicing up your love-life, Skout *can* help you save the earth!
